Five Fast Facts About General Hospital Star Billy Miller

Billy Miller recently announced his departure from General Hospital, a show he has been a part of since 2014, but the actor has worked on a number of shows over the years. From All My Children to The Young and the Restless, the three-time Daytime Emmy winner has been working hard for over 10 years.

Along with his work on soaps, Miller has been on a number of other successful shows, including Suits, Ray Donovan, and CSI: NY. From where he was born and raised to the time he took a break from acting, here are five fast facts about the General Hospital star.

In The Beginning
Miller was born on September 17 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but he grew up in Grand Prairie, Texas. He attended the University of Texas in Austin, Texas and graduated with a degree in communications. He was also a member of the film department’s Production Sequence, which only had 20 students in total.

Health Report
As a child, Miller was diagnosed with a very rare condition called tarsal coalition. This condition affects the cartilage in the ankles and can make it very difficult to walk. Miller spent five years in and out of the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, a place he now supports as an adult. While it was difficult, the experience made him stronger.

Nothing Comes Easy
After graduating from college, Miller packed up and moved out to Los Angeles. But, instead of immediately trying to get into acting, he began working in the mailroom of Industry Entertainment. He then ended up signing with the Wilhelmina modeling agency, which got him auditioning for commercials.

Took A Break
When he was just 24 years old, Miller was given the opportunity to screen test for a role on As the World Turns. But, because of his management, he ended up losing the audition. He then parted ways with his management and ended up taking a two-year break from acting completely.

Dance With Oscar
Miller’s most recent film appearance came in 2015 when he appeared as a naval recruiter in the Oscar-nominated movie, American Sniper, which starred Bradley Cooper and was directed by Clint Eastwood. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
