Finding Felicia: Should She Have Been More Involved in General Hospital’s Ryan Story?

When General Hospital fans first met Dr. Ryan Chamberlain back in summer of 1992, he was Maxie’s pediatrician.

Felicia (Kristina Wagner) had known Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) back in Texas, where she saw him kill his wife. Luckily for Ryan, Felicia had amnesia.

Ryan became obsessed with his little patient’s mommy to the point where the wedding gift he brought to Felicia and Mac’s (John J. York) wedding was a bomb. He kidnapped Georgie and was presumed dead in an explosion.

Wrong! Ryan is alive! And he’s spent months impersonating twin brother Kevin. You know who might have been able to figure that out before multiple women ended up dead, and Lulu (Emme Rylan) stabbed?

Felicia! Felicia has lots of experience dealing with this mad man. So should she have been a larger part of the story? Here’s what over 27,000 fans have to say:

Sense-Less
For 69% of you, the storyline as it played out made no sense. Sure, Ryan alienated ‘wife’ Laura (Genie Francis).

But, there were other people who should have picked up on “Kevin’s” strange behavior. Ex-wife Lucy (Lynne Herring). Best bud Mac. And, oh, yeah, Felicia!

What do you think? Post a comment!

What if, instead of killing Kiki (Hayley Erin) and covering it up by planting false memories about Franco (Roger Howarth) into Lulu’s impressionable head, Ryan had done the same to Maxie (Kirsten Storms).

That would have been a very natural way to bring in Felicia and give a nod to GH’s past.

Modern Times
Newer is always better, 31% remind, and nobody cares about what happened in the last century. Newer characters are always more interesting than veteran ones, even if they’re playing out the same old stories.

GH was right to make Ryan’s rampage all about Carly (Laura Wright) and Jason (Steve Burton). They’re who today’s viewers want to see.

General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
