For a while there, General Hospital (GH) had an embarrassment of Jasons. After much back and forth, it was finally straightened out: the most recent Jason was actually Drew (Billy Miller), Jason’s heretofore unknown twin, and one-time heretofore unmentioned “brother” of Franco (Roger Howarth).
Meanwhile, the guy with no facial expressions and the bigger arms was the real and original Jason (Steve Burton). So… uhm… where’s he been for the past five years?
In a Russian hospital, all hopped up on drugs, yes, we know. But for how long? And why? Fans were promised answers. Here’s how almost 11,000 felt about what they got:
Lucky Drawing
This has been drawn out way, way too long, pout 90% of you. You were really interested in the beginning. Now you are mildly interested. Soon, you won’t give a damn.
Was Jason being used to kill people – by someone less benevolent than Sonny (Maurice Benard), naturally?
Was he living a normal life in Russia, complete with wife, children, and all the pierogi he could eat? Is he the presumed dead Grand Duchess Anastasia? You don’t particularly care anymore, you just want some answers! That aren’t locked up in a flash drive.
Suspension Bridge
Getting answers would take away the fun and suspense, counter a minority 9%. If you wanted to find out everything right away, you’d watch movies. Ninety minutes with a beginning, middle, end, plus a bucket of popcorn.
You watch soaps because you like to watch a story unfold in real time (well, the kind of real time where one night can last a week). You also like to speculate. By yourself. With your friends on the Internet. With total strangers on the Internet. Spec’ing is part of the fun, and getting those answers the majority of you are clamoring for would just ruin it.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
