The buildup to Steve Burton’s return to General Hospital (GH) was epic! You’d be watching Sam whimpering over the bed allegedly holding Port Charles’ Jason’s hand and torso, and there would be that annoying pop-up, reminding you not to get too choked up, the Savior Steve Burton is coming!
Well, now he’s here. Was the buildup worth it? Are you enjoying having the original Stone Cold back on your screens? Even masked and in Russia and hanging with Ava (Maura West)?
So Happy You Might Burst(on)!
Any Burton is a great Burton, beam 81% of you. You are completely invested in figuring out who Drew is. Is he the original Jason? Is he the original Jason’s twin? Is he Franco’s (Roger Howarth) childhood imaginary friend brought to life?
Is he a distant Quartermaine relative (hey, maybe Jimmy Lee Holt had a son… who ended up as a Phantom of the Opera in Russia)?
Is it just one of those totally random lookalike coincidences like Helen Hunt and Leelee Sobieski? Whichever one it turns out to be, you are on the edge of your seats to find out!
We’re Snoozing and Losing
Could this be any duller, yawn a pissed off 17%. While all the action is taking place in Port Charles, Burton is trapped in storyline Siberia. Who cares what’s going on in St. Petersburg? It’s like he’s on a whole different show, and you’re hating every moment of it.
Who Can It Be Now?
A tiny 2% is reserving judgment. You’re not loving it yet, but you’re not totally hating it either.
However, if this cranky Drew chap tries taking Billy Miller’s place, then you are prepared to hate him. But, until that happens, you’re open to waiting and seeing.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
