On General Hospital (GH), fans have had decades to get used to a rapist redeemed into a romantic lead, a mobster redeemed into the most moral man in Port Charles, and a psycho killer redeemed into the ideal father figure for three.
So, what’s the problem with yet another mobster being redeemed into a loving husband, father, grandfather, and model citizen? Can Julian (William DeVry) be redeemed? Almost 6,000 voters shared their opinion.
What’s Good For the Sonny….
Julian is no worse than Sonny (Maurice Benard) or Franco (Roger Howarth), opine 59% of you. So why are they beloved, and Julian PC Persona Non-Grata?
No matter what he’s done in his professional life, he undeniably loves Alexis, Sam (Kelly Monaco), Lucas, Danny, and Scout. Love of family washes away all of Sonny’s sins, even stuff like shooting Carly in the head, and Michael getting shot in the head (should the Corinthoses maybe invest in some bullet-proof helmets?).
So Julian held a knife to Alexis’s (Nancy Lee Grahn) throat. So he got Lucas (Ryan Carnes) shot. He donated blood marrow to Danny! That should fix everything, no?
No Deposit, No Return
Yeah, let’s talk about that knife incident. And Lucas getting shot. And Morgan going boom. And Julian’s relationship with his sisters, Liv (Tonja Walker) and Ava (Maura West).
Sonny respects family. Julian injures his. (Ignore the Sonny incidents above, all those shootings were shootings of love.) It doesn’t matter how often Alexis acts like a horny teenager and goes weak in the knees at the sight of Julian’s abs — who wouldn’t.
That still not enough reason to put Julian on the path to redemption. Alexis needs to take a cold shower, and Julian needs to go into the deep freeze. For good.
