Like The Lord of the Rings hobbits who give presents on their birthdays rather than accept them, on General Hospital (GH) Nelle decided to give Carly a very special gift during Nelle’s baby shower. Only she did it via Ava (Maura West).
And what was the gift Nelle opened that nobody knew Nelle bought? Well, Ava gave Nelle (Chloe Lanier) a mobile. With penguins on it. Because in the entire history of the world, only one child has ever had a passion for penguins.
And that child was Morgan Corinthos. Carly (Laura Wright) flipped out. (Ha, flipped… see what we did there?)
But was the pay-off worth the build up? Almost 11,000 fans shared their feelings:
You waited and you waited and you waited for this brilliant plan of Nelle’s to come together, and 73% of you are still waiting for something interesting to happen besides a tumble down the stairs.
So…Nelle made it seem like Carly was being a shrew over penguins, and Monica (Leslie Charleson) and Joss (Eden McCoy) told Carly to apologize. Bobbie (Jaclyn Zeman) also told Carly to apologize, but that was more so Carly could come off as morally superior.

So, Carly did and Nelle taunted her with a baby blanket that looked like Morgan’s, and Carly yelled some more, and Nelle ended up sprawled at the bottom of the stairs. Which is where you expected her to end up from the start of this story. It wasn’t worth the wait.
Soapy Goodness
Of course, Nelle ended up at the bottom of the stairs, that’s what soaps are all about, 26% of the audience cheers. Everything happened the way you expected – and that’s a good thing.
You watch soaps to see bad girls get their just desserts, and Nelle is well on her way to getting hers. Will Nelle die? Will Carly be charged with murder? Will the baby die? Will Nelle steal Maxie’s? Will they both die and Michael blame his mother? Any way it goes, you want to see more!
