Exclusive Interview: Sydney Mikayla Reveals Answers To Big Questions

Soap Hub recently caught up with General Hospital star Sydney Mikayla (Trina) for a quick chat. From some of her favorites to shows she binge-watches to who makes her laugh, learn more about the adorable actress!

What’s the last gift that you bought for yourself?
A bag of Takis! They are a type of spicy chip that is SUPER unhealthy, but they taste amazing. Every once in a while, I’ll treat myself to junk food.

What was your favorite TV show when you were a little kid?
High Five. I’m not quite sure what it was about, but I remember it being the first concert I ever attended when I was five. I would say it was the toddler version of Coachella.

What’s your favorite – pie, cake, or ice cream?
Even though I’m lactose intolerant, if you buy a nice batch of strawberry almond milk ice cream from Whole Foods, it tastes just the same.

What’s the last song you’ve caught yourself singing?
A song called No Idea by Don Toliver. I have no clue what the song is about, but at random times I sing the lyrics “feeling like I did too much….” over and over until I annoy everyone in the house.

What is the last book you read?
David and Goliath by Malcolm Gladwell. I enjoyed the book, although I miss reading fiction for fun. Junior year is no joke!

What is your favorite sport?
I love watching gymnastics. The UCLA girls team is so great, I love watching their fun routines.

Who makes you laugh?
My dog. He is a mix between a 50-year-old man and a 5-year-old child, he makes me chuckle.

What is the last movie you watched?
I just saw Onward on Disney Plus, and may I say, it was a great watch. It was very heartfelt and well done, I could watch that again.

What job could you never ever do?
I could NEVER be a doctor. I never wanted to be one before, but after the pandemic hit, it truly made me realize how much I respected and appreciated them, even though I could never be one of them. God bless them for the work they do, because I do not think I could have that strength.

What’s your favorite summer activity?
RELAXING! As a high school kid gearing up for college, you really don’t use most of your summer to relax. So when I have those moments, I USE THEM. I watch TV or sleep and just enjoy the stillness of life.

If you were a pro athlete instead of an actor, what sport would it be?
I believe I would be a gymnast. I already love to dance, so I think I could do it well. However, because I’m 5’7, and most gymnasts don’t grow past 5’5, I don’t know that I’d be a good fit.

Who is the most famous person you’ve met?
Oprah hosts an event every year celebrating black women, and she needed a children’s choir full of girls. So not only did I get to perform for Oprah, I got to meet her, which was pretty insane.

What’s your favorite amusement park?
Six Flags. The rides are cool and all, but have you ever had the FUNNEL CAKE?! It is amazing! HANDS DOWN. Six Flags makes it the best one!

What’s the last thing you do before going to sleep?
I get on Tik-Tok. I wish I could say something profound like read or meditate, but Tik Tok is slightly addicting, and I like watching the funny content.
