General Hospital Parry Shen
Soap Hub recently caught up with General Hospital star Parry Shen (Brad) for a quick chat about quarantine. From his dad moments and favorite binge-watches to his favorite vacation spot, learn more about the fascinating actor!
What did you learn about yourself during those few months at home?
That I am indeed an introvert because I’ve not minded being quarantined whatsoever.
What is your best quality as a dad?
I can creatively help take any school project to the next level and make all the other kids extremely envious.
What’s the last gift that you bought for yourself?
A 3D printed sign in the shape of a weight plate that reads, “SHEN Garage Gym, Est. 2020″ – to place inside my newly created garage gym.
What have your daughters taught you?
How to work the most obscure functions on my iPhone that I didn’t even know I had.
Favorite way to spend the weekend?
Creating something in Photoshop.
What TV show would fans be surprised you never miss?
For a long time, it was The Walking Dead – I couldn’t wait for the next episode and would literally get giddy whenever I started a new one.
What other riveting television do you watch?
I’ve begun watching Showtime’s, BILLIONS — which is basically one of my favorite movies, Wallstreet, in long-form.
What is your favorite vacation spot?
Where I honeymooned – Atlantis Resort and Sandals in The Bahamas.
Is there any place you’ve always wanted to visit, but haven’t?
Europe. So much history and good food. I will someday – and probably for an extended period of time.
What is your favorite sport?
Baseball. I love watching an amazing catch or double play. And it’s steeped in so much history being our National Pastime.
What’s your favorite summer activity?
Laying on the grass and watching the local fireworks display in the night sky on July 4th.
Who is the last famous person you’ve met?
2020 Democratic Presidential Candidate, Andrew Yang.
What makes you laugh (or who)?
The show Friends — even though I’ve seen every episode, it still makes me laugh as hard (or even harder), whenever I re-watch.
Best advice your father ever gave you?
Don’t ride your brake in the car, it annoys the drivers behind you. Just ease off the gas/accelerator.
Favorite TV show when you were a kid?
Three’s Company — all the misunderstandings, subterfuge with Jack, and double entendres!
How does your wife describe you to her new friends?
“Incredibly creative but child-like” — which I feel, must go hand-in-hand.
Favorite workout/health tip?
Know how to count your calories/be aware of how many calories are in your food. It’ll serve you well for the rest of your life to adjust accordingly. That way, you can have your cake and eat it too! (at least part of it).
