When soaps hire kids, they often hire twins — especially when those kids are babies and can’t work for very long both to baby temperament and child labor laws. On General Hospital, Grace and Ava Scarola have been playing Avery Corinthos since they were six months old and now they have two twin friends, Theo and Erik Olson, who play Avery’s nephew, Wiley.

They don’t always get to work together or meet up on set, but when they do, these four cuties have some fun. It also turns out they have something in common. Both sets of twins are bi-lingual with the Scarola twins speaking English and Italian and the Olson twins speaking English and French. This all seems to be thanks to one person — Theo and Erik’s mom.
According to an Instagram post with all four kids together, it seems Theo and Erik’s mother was a teacher at Ava and Grace’s elementary school where second languages are taught at a young age.
“We look up to the @scarolatwins as our role models! They’ve been on the show since they were 6 months old so it gives us hope that maybe we can grow up on the show too!” Theo and Erik’s mom apparently wrote in a caption accompanying a snap of the kids.
“Another fun fact is that our mom used to teach at their elementary school! Ava and Grace are bilingual in Italian and we are bilingual in French!!! They are the sweetest girls! ❤️ It’s so fun having so many special connections.”
We’d love to see both sets of twins use their foreign language skills on-screen one day — perhaps even in scenes together. But we know they are as adorable speaking English as they are any other language. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
