Clear the decks, light the lights…General Hospital just had itself yet another wedding for a couple who’s been married so many times most of us have lost track! But, Soap Hub hasn’t. We just witnessed Sonny and Carly’s sixth ceremony and we don’t know why.

So, OK, so maybe the first time they got married it was under duress because Carly (then-Sarah Brown) was pregnant from her and Sonny’s night of hate sex. But they’ve had five more weddings since then. Did they really need another one? Here’s what almost 17,000 fans had to say:

Enough Is Enough
Been there, done that, got enough rice in my hair to last a lifetime, 80% of the audience is not going out to buy another dress — or another gift. Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly (Laura Wright) have had enough weddings to last five lifetimes, let’s try something else.

How about a story for Sonny and Carly that DOESN’T involve them breaking up and getting back together, rinse, repeat, say a few vows, start over again?

What about a serious story about what it’s really like to raise a disabled child? Or, conversely, how about bringing Morgan (Bryan Craig) back from the dead and then we can ignore this new child?

(Though wouldn’t it be nice for Carly to give birth to Sonny’s son without him shooting her in the head?)

Love Is All Around
For 20% of you, one can never have enough love, and the best way to demonstrate love is through a wedding — the splashier the better. Sonny and Carly are GH’s signature couple. They’ve been to hell and back and everywhere in between and they deserve to celebrate having survived it all.

Plus, weddings are a great excuse to see relatives like Bobbie (Jaclyn Zeman) and Lucas (Ryan Adams) who otherwise spend most of their time off-camera.

Though, with both Michael (Chad Duell), Lucas, and Brad (Parry Shen) in attendance, sounds like a good time to drop the Wiley bombshell! Too bad none of that happened and everyone was just…happy. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
