Dominic Zamprogna Facts: A General Hospital Cast Primer

Dominic Zamprogna is best known for playing Sonny’s oldest son Dante Falconeri on General Hospital, as well as his big roles on shows such as Edgemont and the reboot and the mini-series of Battlestar Galactica.

Zamprogna has appeared on other television shows over the years as well, including Smallville, Supernatural, The L Word, and many others. From where he was born and raised to his family, here are five fast facts you need to know about the GH actor.

Who Is Dominic Zamprogna?

Zamprogna was born on April 21 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. His father, Lou Zamprogna, was a dancer and a choreographer. In fact, he ran an acting school in Canada. Zamprogna was interested in sports at a young age and initially thought he wanted to be an athlete when he grew up. He has a twin sister, Amanda, and another sister, Gema — both act as well.

Early Start
Despite being interested in athletics, Zamprogna also got involved in acting when he was young. He got a number of roles when he was a child, including a part in the series Are You Afraid of the Dark, as well as The Magic School Bus.

On the Edge

After guest-starring on a number of shows, while he was young, Zamprogna got his first main role on the Canadian television show Edgemont, which was about teenagers. Zamprogna was only one of three actors to appear in all 70 episodes of that show.

Life After General Hospital
After leaving GH, the actor booked a recurring role on the British-Canadian show, Tin Star, set in the Candian Rockies. He played Estuardo. Mad Men and Good Girls star Christina Hendricks was also in it. He’s also done a short called To the Moon and Back.
