It feels like Dr. Griffin Munro has been on the “General Hospital” story canvas for a good long time, especially with how quickly he won our hearts.
But our speedy formation of bonds with him comes not only from his looks, lovely as they are. He is connected to some GH characters we’ve lived with and loved for decades. Take Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) for instance, who took great comfort from Griffin’s (Matt Cohen) status as Duke’s (Ian Buchanan) son.
Of course, the initial smile he brought to Anna’s face has turned to an expression of consternation ever since he gave Carlos (Jeffrey Vincent Parise) his last rites when Anna would have liked to force an end-of-life confession out of him.
Then we have Nathan, whose presence makes Dr. Dreamboat fidgety and squirrely. Nathan (Ryan Paevey) can’t shake the feeling that Dr. Munro hides something beneath his otherwise serene demeanor. The scar from a bullet wound on Griffin’s side only served to make him more suspicious in Nathan’s eyes.
Soap Hub asked if you like having Dr. Griffin Munro in Port Charles or if he’s an unnecessary character.
A full 90% of you responded with a resounding, “Yes!” You love his bedside manner, his sinfully good looks, and all his character surprises–like being a priest.
A much smaller 4% say they’d rather Griffin went back to wherever he came from. You want him outta here faster than you can say, “Forgive me father, for I have sinned!”
The final 3% are indifferent to him, and possibly even a little annoyed. “Who cares” was your answer to our question. We can sense your eyes rolling, telling us, “Whatever. Moving on!”
