Fans were in for quite a shock last week on General Hospital when Scotty Baldwin popped the question to his on again off again gal pal Bobbie Spencer. But it was poor Scotty who got the biggest shock when the fiery redhead turned him down.
Well, she didn’t so much turn him down. In fact, she told him to work on the proposal and try again. But next time don’t compare her to a comfortable shoe and make sure to use those three magical words: I Love You!
Although his pride was damaged Scotty soldiered on. He and Bobbie even arrived at Liz and Franco’s belated wedding reception as each other’s dates. Fans were happy to see the two together after that awkward proposal but Soap Hub wanted to know just how much you really like seeing Bobbie and Scotty together. Here’s how 7,000 of you voted:
Love Is In The Air
The majority, as they say, has spoken and the verdict is an enthusiastic yes! In total, 66% of you want to see this friendship develop into a romantic relationship. For many of you, Scotty and Bobbie were always the endgame.
Laura was nothing more than an idealized woman in Scotty’s head and the only man that ever truly made Bobbie forget about her first love was Dr. Tony Jones. You’re happy to see that after all these years (and all their extra marriages) that Bobbie and Scotty are finally back together and on the path to something more.
Friendzone
Still, there are 33% of you who think that Bobbie and Scotty should never stray from the friendzone. It’s not that you’re denying their storied history as a romantic duo. But you do feel that this story has been played out.
Bobbie and Scotty just aren’t the same reckless teenagers who gave in to their lust for one another in the 1970s. And sure, back then Bobbie was obsessed enough to fake a pregnancy to trap Scotty into marriage but they have both matured A LOT since then.
No matter what happens one thing is for certain. You are thrilled to have Jacklyn Zeman and Kin Shriner back on your TV screens and couple or no couple you want to continue seeing them front and center. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
