Soap Opera Digest broke the news that Blakemore is headed back to Port Charles. No word on an airdate as of now.

The actor joined the show almost a decade ago and switched to contract status shortly after his debut. He won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his GH role in 2012.

Viewers are going to have to tune in to see what brings Shawn back to the story canvas, but the man has a history with several Port Charles citizens.

Shawn made the scene working for baddie Theo Hoffman (Daniel Benzali) — AKA the Balkan. He crossed paths with Jason (Steve Burton) after drawing a gun on Sam (Kelly Monaco). Later, Jason hired Shawn to be Carly’s (Laura Wright) bodyguard. Jax (Ingo Rademacher) distracted Shawn by reminding him of an incident that caused him to develop PTSD, allowing him to kidnap Josslyn (Eden McCoy). Carly got Shawn a dog, Wilson, to help him deal with his PTSD.

Shawn was about to leave town, but he remained in Port Charles in order to take in his late pal Tommy Ashford’s son (who is really Shawn’s) T.J. with Jordan (Briana Nicole Henry). Shawn let Carly know that he wanted to be with her romantically, but she wasn’t interested so, he backed off.

Next, Shawn tried to help bring down Jerry Jacks (Sebastian Roché), who unleashed a pandemic on Port Charles. Jerry made sure that Josslyn and Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) weren’t affected by the illness as he cared for them. Around this time, Shawn and Alexis became lovers.

Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly asked Shawn to kill Franco (Roger Howarth), but he was unable to complete the mission. Shawn ended up shooting Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) by accident; however, in a shocking twist, the bullet taken from Olivia did not match Shawn’s gun! Shawn and Alexis hit an impasse after he objected to her being Sonny’s lawyer while Alexis didn’t like Shawn being Sonny’s hired hand!

Later, Shawn went to prison for shooting Hayden (Rebecca Budig); however, he wasn’t the one who pumped lead into her either! Blakemore’s last appearance on GH was in 2016. Since exiting Port Charles, he’s appeared in the series American Crime, 13 Reasons Why, and Greenleaf.

Stay tuned for more details on Blakemore’s return to GH. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
