There’s a whole lot of angry testosterone making its way through Port Charles and it seems like Curtis Ashford is now joining the club of men with chips on their shoulders nearly everywhere they go.
Why Does Curtis Ashford Have Such A Big Mad?
For the most part, Curtis (Donnell Turner) had been one of Port Charles’s more gentle and understanding men until about a year ago when he learned his cop wife didn’t tell him all about the big case she was working on that had her son in mortal danger. Curtis was so mad that he divorced the woman he tried so hard to win and had nearly died the year before when she lost a kidney.
Jordan Ashford (then played by Briana Nicole Henry, now Tanisha Harper) couldn’t believe this led to the end of her marriage but took it in stride. And Curtis moved on fast. Jordan was near death once again in a kidney clinic, and Curtis decided to romance his old flame, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr). We sort of understood his next bout of anger when his long-lost, presumed dead father showed up after he left him as a child, but his current anger is just getting to be too much.
Curtis Is Mad At All The Wrong People
It was a little jarring several weeks ago when Curtis was suddenly angry at Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and refused to allow Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) to audition as The Savoy just because Sonny asked him to. After all, Sonny didn’t want to go digging into Marshall Ashford’s (Robert Gossett) personal business when Curtis asked him to. That should earn anyone Curtis’s ire. Well, at least according to Curtis, it should.
Curtis had even learned about Marshall’s past and forgiven him for everything when he showed his grudge towards Sonny. So, it was shocking when Curtis actually apologized to Sonny recently.

However, Curtis’s divorce paper anger is really, really over the top. Jordan and the fans know it was his Aunt Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) who took his divorce papers with the intention of tearing them up. She then changed her mind and then never mailed them due to a stroke, but Jordan took the fall, and boy, is Curtis mad.
Jordan has said this was an accident on more than one occasion, and she just wants the matter left alone, but Curtis can’t leave it alone despite the fact that all he has to do is file more papers and take care of the matter.
While feeling like his life and business is under Selina Wu’s (Lydia Look) thumb right now might be getting Curtis down, it doesn’t mean he has the right to take it out on everyone else around him. Maybe he is just missing his buddy Laura Collins (Genie Francis), who is bound to be in for quite a shock when she returns home and sees the trouble the men in her life have gotten themselves into without her.
