General Hospital confirmed the return of Tonja Walker to the soap today after over 20 years away.
Walker previously played Olivia Jerome, Ava (Maura West) and Julian’s (William deVry) sister, but she allegedly died in 1992. Soap Hub had previously speculated that Oscar Jessup, who also died in 1992, might be Olivia, but now we’re not entirely sure thanks to the release from ABC.
“We are very happy to be bringing Tonja back to GH. While we can’t share what role she’ll be playing, we can guarantee that she’ll be shaking things up in Port Charles,” said Frank Valentini, executive producer.
The release also just said it will be a “prominent role,” which now has us wondering if Walker will be bringing her One Life to Live character, Alex Olanov, to GH.
Now that ABC once again owns the rights to characters from All My Children and One Life to Live, we didn’t think it would be long until one or several began popping up in Port Charles.
When the soaps were first cancelled, Todd Manning, Blair Cramer, Starr Manning, and John McBain all made the move.
