Things are going pretty well on General Hospital for Trina and Spencer. Their romantic trip to New York cemented them as Port Charles’ hottest young couple, and Spencer has even become a tiny less obsessive about his baby brother, Ace. Of course, now that Ace’s mommy, Esme, has her memories back, that may all change. Which means now may be the best — or the worst — time for the pair to get engaged.
Trina Robinson And Spencer Cassadine: We’ve Got Pros
The pros are that Trina (Tabyana Ali) and Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) could really make a statement here. The statement would be: We’re young, we’re in love, and we’re in this for the long haul. No one can get between us. Not Portia (Brook Kerr), not Nikolas (Adam Huss).
And especially not Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl). Now that she remembers who she used to be, she might decide to go back to her wicked, wicked ways and try to trap Spencer again…this time using Ace to do it. If Spencer is engaged to Trina, planning a wedding, planning a life, he’ll be way too busy to fall for Esme’s little schemes (refresh your memory of Trina putting Esme on blast here).
We’ve Got Cons
The cons are that Trina and Spencer are both really, really young. Trina hasn’t even finished college yet. And Spencer hasn’t started. Spencer doesn’t know what he wants to do with his life. And that’s a big wedge between the couple as it is. It will feel even worse as Trina completes school and makes plans for a career, while Spencer…continues doing what he’s doing? Which is what?
Ace isn’t going to need ’round the clock care much longer. He’ll go to school. He’ll turn into a teen in a couple of years. It won’t be good for Trina to become the center of Spencer’s world. And it’s certainly not good for Spencer to be so directionless. Engagements are for adults. Spencer, at least, is still a child. What do you think? Let us know in the comments section below.
