This Is Why Sidwell’s Exit From General Hospital Was So Very Wrong

There is no way that Sidwell would have gone down without fight.

General Hospital just disappeared one of its most entertaining villains in the blink of an eye. Sidwell is off to Pentonville, and we didn’t get to see it happen.

Key Takeaways

  • It is unlikely that Sidwell would have gone down without a fight.
  • Sidwell’s trial would have been very entertaining.
  • He would have taken others down with him if he had taken a plea deal.

No Trial For Sidwell

Molly (Kristen Vaganos) was all set to prosecute Sidwell (Carlo Rota). She even canceled her big book tour, but there will be no trial because Sidwell took a plea deal.

Sidwell is the most unlikely villain to take a plea deal. No one would love the fanfare of a trial more than Jenz. Most importantly, he doesn’t believe he did anything wrong. In his mind, his actions were justified. He had to shoot Lucas (Van Hansis) because he believed he killed Marco (Adrian Anchondo). There was always a reason for his madness.

The outbursts and faces would be reason enough to sit through his trial. Sidwell was evil, but in such an entertaining way. It is a shame we don’t get to see it.

Sidwell Took A Plea Deal?

It is completely out of character for Jenz to take a plea deal and go to prison without a fight. Fighting is his thing.

If by chance he had taken the deal, he would have taken everyone down with him. There is no way that he would take the blame for anyone else’s crimes.

The first person he would throw under the bus is Willow (Katelyn MacMullen). He knows that she not only shot Drew (Cameron Mathison), but also put him in his locked-in state. Sidwell was the one who made her a congresswoman, and he would never have been hauled off to jail while leaving Willow sitting pretty.

Jenz knows that Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) was the mastermind behind Faison’s (Anders Hove) Final Project, and he never would have kept that secret to himself. Cullum also killed Marco. He may be dead, but Sidwell would never allow him to look like the hero that the WSB made him out to be.

GH could have done so much more with Sidwell’s exit. Some fanfare would have been more fitting for this character. How do you think it should have gone?
