It makes sense that there needed to be a story to explain Anna’s (Finola Hughes) absence to her friends and family, so that no one would suspect she was kidnapped.
However, saying she just up and rejoined the WSB isn’t the answer. After everything that came out about Anna being a double agent, why would she ever go back?
Aside from that, Anna texting Emma (Braedyn Bruner) an excuse for her leaving town didn’t raise a red flag with anyone. Emma has been laser-focused on Dalton (Daniel Goddard), and Anna suddenly letting that go just makes sense to her loved ones.
Not so much! Anna would never not say goodbye to Emma in person, and she would also never leave her granddaughter while Emma is determined to take Dalton down.
There’s also the timing of the mayoral election. Anna isn’t the type of friend to just leave Laura (Genie Francis) hanging at this crucial time. If she did, Anna would tell Laura in person, not have Jack (Chris McKenna) do it. And, of course, there’s also the matter of Drew’s shooting. She was spearheading that investigation.
We know Anna fears Faison (Anders Hove) is really alive, and that could be enough of a reason for some to think she would go back to the WSB. The simple fact that neither Laura nor Emma questioned Anna’s decision seems odd to us.
Although, as one fan on X pointed out, Laura is at least a little skeptical.
