What Shouldn’t Happen to GH’s Trina Robinson and Spencer Cassadine

A GH fate worse than love…and death.

General Hospital viewers rejoiced when their favorite young lovebirds, Trina Robinson and Spencer Cassadine, finally consummated their slow-burning love on a whirlwind tour of New York City. All is right with the world! But is that really a good thing? In some ways, yes. In others…not so much. Here are the pros and cons of this couple remaining happy.

Trina Robinson and Spencer Cassadine: Equals

Trina (Tabyana Ali) and Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) are perfectly well-matched. They light up around each other. They bring out the best in each other. And they really turn each other on. So far, so good. But, here’s the problem: If Trina and Spencer spend their post-NYC time gazing soulfully into each other’s eyes and gushing about how happy, in love, and fulfilled they are, that’s…not particularly interesting. In fact, it guarantees a very, very quick trip to the back burner. And nobody wants “Sprina” there.

General Hospital: Happiness Is…

The same fans who love Spencer and Trina together are also the ones who hate Spencer’s obsession with his baby brother Ace, which means he has to spend a lot of time with Ace’s mother, Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl). You aren’t thrilled with Trina’s mother, Portia (Brook Kerr), either, and her obsession with controlling her grown daughter’s life and breaking up her and Spencer.

What do you think? Post a comment!

GH: Pick a Side

If “Sprina” lovers want to see them on a daily basis — and doing more than just mooning over each other — they have to accept the fact that this means problems. Maybe a third party (hiya, Esme), maybe a meddling mama (hiya, Portia), maybe the return of Spencer’s presumed dead pop. We can see Nikolas (Adam Huss) wanting to claim Ace and Spencer stepping in. Trina can be there to support him, but some friction is a must. You know, just to keep things interesting.
