With Sonny and Jason both ready to retire from the mob, could we see the past repeating itself on General Hospital?
A New Man in Town
There was once a time when Sonny (Maurice Benard) was the new man in town, working for Frank Smith (ex-Mitchell Ryan) in the mob. When Sonny eventually took the reigns as Port Charles’ number one mobster, he got an unexpected right-hand man. Jason Quartermaine (Steve Burton). After the aspiring doctor and good boy to AJ’s bad boy got a brain injury, he set out on a life of crime. He abandoned the Q’s, changed his name to Jason Morgan, and started working for Sonny.

After decades of Sonny and Jason running the Corinthos organization, Sonny’s worsening heart trouble and Jason’s commitment to raising Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) may send them both to an early retirement. And while Kristina (Kate Mansi) would certainly make a great mobstress, things could go down another route that we’ve all seen before.
From Football to Mobster
Despite Trina’s (Tabyana Ali) continued skepticism over whether Kai (Jens Austin Astrup) would really put his art studies ahead of his football career, Kai has proven to be as sweet as they come. Although he’s a famous college quarterback, he’s also invested in Trina’s studies, does yoga with Aunt Stella (Vernee Watson), and even offered his balloons and gifts to GH’s pediatrics wing.
While his football injury was merely a dislocated shoulder, it was enough to send him out of PCU’s latest game. Kai had previously warned Trina about potential career-threatening injuries. It was almost as if he had jinxed himself. But when his next injury undoubtedly comes along, could it result in a brain injury that sends him from sweet football star to number one mobster?
