General Hospital‘s Ric has been the bad guy for years. He was constantly plotting something against someone, usually for revenge or money. There is a new good guy, Ric, in town. Do we love him or hate him?

Key Takeaways

  • There is a new and improved Ric in Port Charles.
  • His best move yet was helping Michael out of a jam at the PCPD.
  • New Ric may be nice, but some may think he’s a tad boring.
  • The evil Ric might be missed.

Loving Good Ric

A better Ric (Rick Hearst) emerged from Alexis’s (Nancy Lee Grahn) basement. Alexis, Ava (Maura West), and Kristina (Kate Mansi) kept him locked away for weeks, and it looks like he was using the time to question his life, which was questionable.

He decided to change his ways. Ric is now on his way to becoming a good guy. First, he made amends with his brother, Sonny (Maurice Benard), by helping his grandson, Rocco (Finn Carr). He has become kinder to Alexis and closer to his daughter, Molly (Kristen Vaganos). Ric’s new attitude is also helping him get closer to Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), whom he has always loved.

His best move yet was helping Michael (Rory Gibson) out at the PCPD. The attorney was smart enough to realize that Wiley’s (Viron Weaver) comment meant that someone planted the key on his keychain, and Michael was free to go.

This new version of Ric is great, and we hope he stays this way.

Missing The Old Ric

The new Ric is honest, kind, and helpful, but what fun is that? Ric was a great villain. His crazy plans were always a good time for viewers, and he usually deserved what he got when they failed.

What will be missed most is his sparring with Alexis. The two exes despised each other, and there was a battle anytime they were in the same room. Watching these attorneys go up against each other in the courtroom or in their personal lives was always entertaining.

Ric and Ava were a masterful evil couple, and their double-crossing each other was epic. Now that Ric seems to be getting back with sweet Elizabeth, is he destined to be nice but boring? That doesn’t fit the Ric we all know and love to hate. Then again, things are always changing in Port Charles.
