Ever since Nathan returned to General Hospital, there has been something off about the character. Nathan’s reaction to Maxie waking up only further proved that Nathan isn’t who he says he is or even thinks he is.

Key Takeaways

  • One GH fan isn’t convinced Nathan is Peter.
  • An unexpected twist could be coming for Nathan and Maxie.
  • When will fans learn more about Nathan?

There’s More to Nathan’s Story Than Meets the Eye

Nathan’s (Ryan Paevey) reaction to Maxie’s (Kirsten Storms) being awake and her returning to Port Charles was not what GH fans expected from him. It had been over seven years since Nathan had seen Maxie, yet he didn’t rush to her party or the hospital to see her.

Instead, the couple had a run-in when they both visited Nathan’s grave. This was after Nathan spent the day at work avoiding anything to do with Maxie.

There’s no question his behavior was very unlike Nathan, which can be added to the list of other things, like the cigarette butt, that don’t quite add up about his return.

One fan on X feels his behavior means he’s not Peter and that fans are in for a not “straightforward” story.

“If ‘Nathan’ were really Peter, I actually think he’d be pushing to be with Maxie. So I don’t think it’ll be that straightforward. I feel like it’s more likely to really be Nathan, but with his mind, or some of his memories, messed with,” shared the fan.

We have to agree that the odds of Nathan being Peter in a mask are slim to none. There’s no way Peter could hide his obsession with Maxie and still stay away from her.

Plus, it seems very unlikely that Peter would try to start a relationship with Maxie’s best friend, Lulu (Alexa Havins), while she was in a coma.

The Nathan twist is something GH fans have long been talking about, given the timing of both Nathan’s and Britt’s (Kelly Thiebaud) returns. The odds are likely that Nathan has been brainwashed, much like when Drew (then Billy Miller) was led to believe he was Jason (Steve Burton).

We aren’t saying Nathan has a twin, but that would definitely be one way to explain his behavior and his 7-year absence.

There are certainly more questions than answers right now regarding Nathan, but hopefully, now that Maxie is back, we will get some of them. If anyone can find out if Nathan is really Nathan, it’s Maxie.

In the meantime, let’s enjoy this crazy ride, which is no doubt somehow connected to Faison (Anders Hove) and possibly Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) and Sidwell (Carlo Rotta) too.
