General Hospital had a great couple in Lucy and Martin. They were fun, sexy, entertaining…and then suddenly over. This duo should have stayed together.

Key Takeaways

  • Martin and Lucy were a fun and interesting couple.
  • Scott and Tracy plotted to break them up, and it worked.
  • There is no Scott and Lucy, or Tracy and Martin.
  • Lucy and Martin were better together.

Everyone Loved Lucy And Martin

Lucy (Lynn Herring) and Martin (Michael E Knight) were magic from the first moment she sat on his lap when he played Santa Claus. They immediately clicked, fell in love, and were headed toward happily ever after.

It was nice to see Lucy happy after pining away for Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) for so many years. Martin had a bit of a checkered past with many ex-wives, but he seemed settled with Lucy, and even his sister Laura (Genie Francis) approved.

Their relationship became strained over Martin’s ex-wives, Deception, the “Deceptor,” and a lot of conniving. It was Scott (Kin Shriner) and Tracy (Jane Elliot) who ultimately broke up the couple. Lucy was close to her ex, and Tracy convinced Martin that something was going on between them.

Eventually, Lucy and Scott slept together, Martin caught them, Lucy went after him, but he decided to leave town. Once he returned, she tried to get him back, but it was too late.

What Was The Point?

After the breakup, Scott literally disappeared, and no one in Port Charles questions what happened to him. Maybe Martin and Lucy’s breakup would have been worth it if she and Scott reconciled and their daughter Serena (Carly Schroeder) returned to town. No such luck.

On the other side, if Martin isn’t with Lucy, it would be great if he and Tracy became a couple. Those two are constantly at each other’s throats, but hate can easily turn to love. They would be a lot of fun to watch. As of now, that hasn’t happened.

Marin has gotten pretty bad without his girlfriend in his life. He became Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) lap dog and is pretty miserable. Lucy became interested in Sidwell (Carlo Rota), and that didn’t go very well for her.

Lucy and Martin aren’t the same without each other. Maybe GH will somehow bring them back to each other. We can hope.
