Josslyn’s vendetta against Sonny on General Hospital is getting out of control, and no one can talk her out of it. She tried to justify her actions to Valentin with the Nixon Falls story, but left out some important information.
Key Takeaways
- Josslyn filled Hudson in on the Nixon Falls story.
- She kept critical pieces of information from him.
- Josslyn’s hatred of Sonny has skewered her memory and thinking.
Jax Became Involved In Nixon Falls
Josslyn’s (Eden McCoy) version of Nixon Falls was mostly correct. Sonny (Maurice Benard) had amnesia and believed he was a bartender named Mike. Nina (Cynthia Watros) found him and kept it a secret. Nina and “Mike” fell in love, Sonny remembered who he was, came home, and eventually left Carly (Laura Wright) for Nina.
She left out a couple of important details. One being that her dad arrived in Nixon Falls and found Nina hiding the truth that Sonny had survived his supposed death and was living with amnesia. In his defense, Jax (Ingo Rademacher) tried to do the right thing and convince Nina to come clean. When she begged him to let her take care of it her way, he agreed. Before that happened, the Tan-O was set on fire, and Sonny’s memories returned on their own.
Carly was furious with Jax for keeping Nina’s secret, but Joss conveniently left that part out.
Jason And Carly
Sonny did not return to Port Charles to find a still-distraught Carly. He returned on her wedding night to, of all people, Jason (Steve Burton). The idea was for Jason and Carly to present a unified front for the five families. Marriage was the best option.
It began that way, but the best friends soon developed real romantic feelings for each other. They had a wedding, and Sonny returned just as they were about to consummate the marriage.
Josslyn’s story made it sound as if Sonny came home, divorced his wife, and married Nina. It was a bit more complicated than that. He knew there was something between Carly and his best friend, and he struggled with it, eventually turning to Nina. Their divorce was not completely one-sided, and Carly is over it. If she can have a great relationship with her ex, that should be enough for her daughter.
The Nixon Falls story was long and complex. Joss told her own version of it to make Sonny look like the villain. What did you think of her storytelling?
