It’s time for a Josslyn Jacks change on General Hospital. No, not the actress, Eden McCoy is outstanding, but the character trying to take down Sonny and blame him for everything is too much.
Key Takeaways
- Joss hates Sonny for one reason, and it’s not his crime business.
- The character’s disdain for the mob boss is overkill.
- Her love for Jason while loathing Sonny is a double standard.
Sing a Different Tune, Joss
After months of waiting for Carly (Laura Wright) and Joss (McCoy) to face off over the latter being a WSB agent, fans finally got a showdown for the books. McCoy and Wright hit it out of the park with their performances.
However, there was one thing during the incredible scenes that ruined the epic fight for us. Joss declaring her reason for being in the WSB is to take down Soony (Maurice Benard) made the incredible moment take a turn.
Listening to Joss drone on and on about evil Sonny is ridiculous. Joss never had such hate for Sonny or his business until he cheated on Carly with Nina (Cynthia Watros).
Then, suddenly, Joss has an issue with Sonny and his business dealings. It makes no sense. She’s filled with hate for her former stepfather, even blaming him for Morgan’s (Bryan Craig) death, when GH fans know it was all because of Ava (Maura West), Julian (William deVry), and Olivia (Tonja Walker).
Making Joss rambling about her hate for Sonny worse is the fact that she constantly runs to Jason (Steve Burton) for help. Jason has done just as many dirty deeds as Sonny, if not more. He is the mob boss enforcer after all, but Joss only sees Jason as another one of Sonny’s victims.
GH fans are also over-listening to Joss and her disdain for Sonny. “I can’t believe they still have Josslyn saying that the reason why she got into the WSB is to take down Sonny and people like him. She needs a hard factory reset. Her father and her Uncle Jerry are no prizes,” declared a fan on X.
Another fan isn’t here for the double standard with Jason, her mother, and Sonny, either, writing on X, “Hey Joss, while you are mercifully taking down Sonny and everyone like him will you also take down Jason? Brick? What about your mother? Cause she was a mob boss too.”
Joss doesn’t have to love Sonny, but the writers need to chill it with her hate for him. Honestly, as much as her dislike of Sonny has been mentioned, we wouldn’t be surprised if somehow he saves her life in the near future, changing her tune about him.
What do you think about Joss’ angst toward Sonny? Is it deserved or too much?
