Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) was introduced as Lucky’s (Jonathan Jackson) partner in crime. The doctor was kidnapped but escaped from Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) clutches. He headed straight to Port Charles to alert the WSB that his friend was being held hostage.
When he arrived in town, he was hit by a car and left for dead. Isaiah was unconscious at the hospital for some time and was named a “John Doe.” He eventually helped Lucky, saved Lulu’s (Alexa Havens) life, began working at GH, and started a steamy relationship with Jordan (Tanisha Harper).
Dr. Gannon appeared to be a superhero and a fantastic new addition to Port Charles. Unfortunately, he was put on the back burner when Jordan ended their relationship.
What Could Have Been
Isaiah became the doctor who doled out advice to everyone at the hospital, especially Portia (Brook Kerr). Eventually, the two began an affair, and now she is pregnant. He may or may not be the baby daddy.
Dr. Gannon has been reduced to someone who does nothing but moon over the ex-Chief of Staff. What happened to his sense of adventure and heroics? He seemed to fizzle after Lucky left, and the character deserves so much more.
There was hope that Isaiah was the son of One Life to Live‘s RJ Gannon (Timothy Stickney). Fans love a GH/OLTL crossover, and exploring Dr. Gannon’s roots back to Llanview would have been fun for viewers. As of now, there has been no mention of Isaiah’s family, so it remains a possibility. It would certainly bring a spark back to the character. We can only hope.
