Here’s Why Port Charles Needs Another Career Shakeup On General Hospital

Some of these characters are not in the right line of work.

Last year, General Hospital righted a lot of wrongs when it came to careers in Port Charles. However, despite Alexis getting her law license back and getting Jason back as Sonny’s righthand man, there are still several loose threads in the job department.

True Callings

Like most young adults, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) has been undecided about her career. Initially going to PCU for pre-med after developing a knack for saving lives, she eventually changed her major and has been helping out her mom at Bobbie’s. But serving BLTs won’t cut it for this smart and sassy young woman. She needs a job that will challenge her, and that’s where Brennan’s (Charles Mesure) liking for her comes in. He’s noticed how she’s connived her way to solving Dex’s (ex-Evan Hofer) murder and could easily be next to join the WSB.

As for Gio (Giovanni Mazza, who recently dished on his character’s upcoming storyline), he may soon be a little preoccupied with his birth parent mess,, but we haven’t forgotten about his secret interest in the law. Sure, he’s an incredibly talented violinist, but if a certain member of the PCPD winds up being his birth father, it could reignite his desire to become a cop.

Mob Men

Odds are that we won’t be getting a Hitman-Jason-Morgan-turned-Dr. Jason Quartermaine any time soon, but he has expressed interest in getting out of the mob now that he’s left to raise Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) on his own. And between Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) heart problem and Michael’s (ex-Chad Duell) accident, he’s also ready to hand the organization over. Insert Kai (Jens Austin Astrup). He’s just found out he’ll never play football again, so it’s the perfect time for him to spiral out of control and straight into Sonny’s orbit.

Pub People

As for the two people who currently run Charlie’s Pub, only one of them is really fitting for the gig. Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) may have once been a successful detective with the PCPD, but that was never true to the Spencer name. Now that he’s back in Port Charles, he’s certainly making his father proud by bartending at Charlie’s (and probably acting as their live music soon, too).

Kristina (Kate Mansi), however, seems to have lost focus on what she really wants: to help LGBTQ+ youth. Her mission in life was to start an LGBTQ+ youth center in Port Charles, but after the trauma of losing her baby, losing her sister, and breaking up with Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez), her priorities shifted gears and brought her back to working at Charlie’s. Hopefully, Kristina remembers where her true passion lies, and Charlie’s quickly becomes Lucky’s.
