Has The Hook Gotten…The Hook on General Hospital?

For weeks and weeks on General Hospital, viewers were told to be on the edge of their seats, dying to know who The Hook was, killing and stabbing their way across Port Charles. We tried. We did. We followed the clues we were left, and we tried to figure out who might have something against all of the victims.

For a long time, it seemed like Trina (Tabyana Ali) might be the thing all of them had in common. And then the killer was revealed — it’s Heather Webber (Alley Mills). Uhm…what? To paraphrase a song Liesl (Kathleen Gati) sang a few years ago, “Is that all there is?”

Is the mystery truly over? Heather is the hook, and there are no more loose ends to tie up? If so, then we have to ask: Why did she do it? Yes, Heather is nutso, cuckoo crazy. But there has always been a method to her madness before. We understand why Heather would want to stab Ava (Maura West). Heather is obsessed with Ryan (Jon Lindstrom), and Ryan was once obsessed with Ava.

And we get poor Officer Rory. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. But Diane (Carolyn Hennesy)? Brando (Johnny Wactor)? Joss (Eden McCoy)? Why would Heather want to kill them? OK, so Brando really got it in place of Joss, but why gunning so hard at Joss?

General Hospital Timeline

Some of the victims also have a connection to Heather’s long-lost daughter, Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl). But if Heather was killing for Esme, then she would have started before she knew Esme was her daughter. At least, as far as we know. Ryan only filled Heather in on it a few weeks ago. But maybe Heather knew all along and was just faking it?

The point is, there are still a LOT of questions to be answered. But it looks like the show has dropped the ball on answering any of them. Which is why we’re asking: Is the story over? And if so….boo.
