General Hospital‘s Maxie is not very happy about Lulu’s budding relationship with Nathan. She chose Spinelli, but doesn’t want her husband and her best friend getting together. Is she allowed to have a say?

Key Takeaways

  • Maxie woke up from her coma to find Nathan alive.
  • Maxie chose Spinelli.
  • Nathan and Lulu have feelings for each other, and Maxie is not happy about it.
  • Some fans agree with her.
  • Others feel that Nathan and Lulu are allowed to move on together if Maxie is happy where she is.

Maxie Is Right

Maxie (Kirsten Storms) believed for seven years that her husband was dead. She fell into a coma, but when she woke up, Nathan (Ryan Paevey) was somehow alive. Maxie had a choice to make: Nathan or Spinelli (Bradford Anderson)? She chose Spinelli and the life they had built together.

Although her choice was clear, Nathan was once the love of her life, and they had a magical relationship. That doesn’t just disappear, and Maxie needs time to process all that has happened.

Now her best friend, Lulu (Alexa Havins), has announced that she and Nathan have feelings for each other. Lulu, who witnessed Maxie and Nathan’s love story, and who watched her bestie grieve her husband’s death.

Maxie is not okay with this, and many fans agree. You do not go after your best friend’s ex. It’s girl code. “That’s a big no-no!” exclaimed one Facebook user. “Leave your best friend’s ex alone, or you will lose Maxie,” agreed another.

Maxie Is Wrong

Maxie loves Spinelli. They have a beautiful life together with their children, and that is where she wants to stay. Even after the shock of Nathan’s return, she chose not to be with him. He is free to move on.

Nathan and Lulu are still in the beginning stages of falling for each other. Lulu did the right thing and went to Maxie to tell her the truth before things went any further. She did not sneak around behind her back. If Maxie is happy where she is, why shouldn’t her friend be allowed to start a relationship with Nathan?

Some fans feel strongly that Maxie is wrong. “It is ridiculous. Maxie should want Lulu and Nathan to be happy,” one insisted. Another didn’t like the way Maxie spoke to her friend, “Ridiculous. OK to think it, not OK to demand it.”

One viewer compared Maxie’s coma to Lulu’s, “It’s been seven years since her and Nathan. Lulu went into a coma for years, and Dante moved on with Sam.”
