General Hospital‘s Willow gave her husband a massive stroke. What will become of Drew is a mystery at the moment, but no one wants to see another Lock-In Syndrome storyline.
Key Takeaways
- Cameron Mathison is not leaving GH.
- Drew had a stroke, and the prognosis is not good.
- Drew is not likely to change his ways.
- The doctors mentioned Lock-In Syndrome.
- Fans hope that is not the direction this storyline goes.
Drew Isn’t Going Anywhere
Drew will survive the stroke because Cameron Mathison has made it clear that he is not leaving GH. Then again, Lucas (Van Hansis) didn’t give Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) much hope for a full recovery, or much of a recovery at all. It is unclear what will happen to him now.
It might be nice if the stroke gave the congressman such a scare that he would change his evil ways. Another option is that it fixed whatever went wrong in his brain when he was beaten in prison. The old Drew could reappear and eventually, all would be forgiven.
That probably won’t happen, and even if he were a changed man, he would not be easily forgiven for all that he has done. However, it has been done before with Franco (ex-Roger Howarth).
Lock-In
The doctors who were treating the congressman mentioned the possibility of Lock-In Syndrome. This is when the body and most of the facial muscles are paralyzed, but consciousness remains, and the ability to perform certain eye movements is preserved.
Some fans do not want to see this happen. They may not like Drew, but no one wants to see him sitting still in a wheelchair for weeks on end. It could become a Misery/ Kathy Bates situation if Willow were to take care of him.
The Lock-In story has also been done before with Ryan (Jon Lindstrom). Fans are looking for something new. So, what will become of Drew?
