Who would have ever thought we’d see the day that Kristina and Ava are bonding over their crimes? Let’s take a look back at how these General Hospital enemies became unlikely friends.
History of Hate
Some may say it started last summer, but in reality, Kristina’s (Kate Mansi) grudge against Ava (Maura West) began in 2016 when Ava turned out to be responsible for her brother Morgan’s (Bryan Craig) death. No one close to Morgan has forgiven Ava for what she did, despite Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) attempts at civilly raising their daughter together.
While that was only one of many bad things Ava did to The Corinthos family — including, but not limited to: switching Sonny’s bipolar medication with placebos, cheating on Morgan with his father, and murdering Connie (Kelly Sullivan) — it was what happened between her and Kristina last summer that set months of chaos in motion.
When a pregnant Kristina arrived at Ava’s hotel room to discuss the custody battle between her and her father, Kristina wound up falling out the window and into the pool, ultimately losing the baby she was carrying for Molly (Kristen Vaganos) and TJ (Tajh Bellow). While Kristina has put the blame on Ava for her fall, viewers know the actual reason she fell was because she tripped over Jagger’s (Adam Harrington) bag that he’d left at Ava’s.
Frenemies in the Making?
Despite Kristina’s many attempts at retaliating against Ava — like cutting what she thought were her brake lines and paying Cody (Josh Kelly) to seduce her — it appears these two have now put their differences aside for a greater cause: holding Ric (Rick Hearst) captive.
Kristina has been at odds with her sister’s father ever since she accidentally cut his brake lines instead of Ava’s, while Ava has decided she’s done with Ric after learning his plan to betray their blackmail deal against Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn). Now, not only have Kristina and Ava joined forces to keep Ric quiet, they’ve begun plotting together about how to continue their plan to keep Ric off the grid in Port Charles. Some may even say their joint crime has bonded the two.
