General Hospital‘s Elizabeth is the Head Nurse at GH, but lately, there isn’t much of anything else going on with her. It’s time to give her a life in 2026.

Key Takeaways

  • Elizabeth started strong in 2025, but faded when Lucky left GH.
  • She is always handing out advice at the Nurse’s station.
  • The eye mites’ PSA was a sad moment for Liz.
  • It’s time for Elizabeth to have a love interest or embark on an adventure.

Elizabeth Went Downhill Fast

2025 started off promising for Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). Lucky (ex-Jonathan Jackson) had recently returned to Port Charles, and all was right with the world. He and Liz did some spy work to discover that Cyrus (ex-Jeff Kober) was the Digitalis Killer, and then the childhood sweethearts fell in love all over again.

It was not meant to be when the couple realized they wanted different things out of life and, in typical Lucky style, he said goodbye to Port Charles. In hindsight, perhaps Nurse Baldwin should have gone with him, as her life became consumed by work and supporting her friends.

Elizabeth is constantly at the Nurse’s Station and has become the “Dear Abby” of the hospital. She doles out advice to anyone who comes by, especially Lucas (Van Hansis) and Portia (Brook Kerr). Liz became Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) only friend and even let her stay in her empty home (Where is Aidan? Doesn’t he have school?). She has become nothing more than a shoulder to lean on.

The icing on the cake was when poor Liz got stuck with learning the ins and outs of eye mite infections. Really?

Let 2026 Be A Better Year

Now that the eye mites are all cleared up, let’s ring in a new year for Elizabeth. A love interest might be a good start. Ric (Rick Hearst) seems to be turning over a new leaf. These former lovebirds could give their relationship another shot. If not Ric, maybe Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) would be a good match. If Portia’s baby isn’t his, he could pull away from the former Co-Chief of Staff and see the Head Nurse in a new light.

Since all of Elizabeth’s kids are currently out of town, perhaps it’s time for her to have an adventure. Something with Jason (Steve Burton) would be fun to watch. Let’s get Liz out from behind the desk and into the world. Preferably, using her stellar investigative skills. It’s time.
