General Hospital‘s Chase is furious because his wife lied to him. That may not be the full story, and Ned pointed that out to him. It is time for Chase to figure out where his anger is coming from.

Key Takeaways

  • Ned had a calm but firm conversation with Chase.
  • Chase’s anger at Brook Lynn may be more about who she framed.
  • Ned pointed out that Chase is not being honest with himself.

Ned: Great Dad

Chase (Josh Swickard) is outraged. Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) is devastated. Tracy (Jane Elliot) is pre-filing for divorce. Ned (Wally Kurth) kept a level head.

Brook Lynn’s dad felt for his daughter, but instead of turning his anger on Chase, he had a heart-to-heart with him. Ned listened while his son-in-law went on and on about BLQ’s deceit and his own hurt. He didn’t make excuses for his daughter. Instead, he explained why Chase should work on his marriage and keep the family together for Phoebe’s sake.

Chase was polite but not very receptive to Ned’s reasoning because, in his eyes, Brook Lynn was the villain, and he was the innocent victim. Then, Ned questioned what was really driving all this anger. Was it because his wife lied and tried to frame someone, or was it because that someone was Willow (Katelyn MacMullen)?

Chase: Horrible Husband?

Chase does have a right to be angry with his wife. She was dishonest with him and set Willow up to take the fall. But she is not the only one who has been deceitful in their marriage.

Chase developed a very strong emotional connection with his ex. They have been hanging around each other and flirting for months. He did not technically cheat on BLQ, but his behavior has been deceitful. Right or wrong, that is why Brook Lynn tried to frame Willow.

Now that Brook Lynn’s lie has come out, Chase is angry and quite self-righteous. His reaction may not be as strong if she tried to frame someone else. This may be more about Willow than about Brook Lynn, and Ned made sure his son-in-law recognized what may be the truth of the situation.

It is time for Chase to take a long look at his own behavior and take some accountability for his own actions. Brook Lynn did not put their marriage in jeopardy on her own. There is plenty of blame to go around.

Do you think Chase will own up to his mistakes? Can this marriage be saved?
