Brother and sister have both returned from the dead on General Hospital, but Britt and Nathan are certainly not the first to do so. Port Charles is filled with people who were thought to be gone forever. Here are some of our favorites.
Key Takeaways
- General Hospital has made the impossible possible — time and again — with shocking back-from-the-dead storylines.
- Laura Spencer’s unforgettable return set the gold standard for soap comebacks.
- Jason Morgan’s repeated resurrections prove no one stays gone for long in Port Charles.
- Robin’s surprise reappearance stopped her husband’s wedding mid-ceremony.
- Felicia’s jaw-dropping reunion with Frisco remains one of GH’s most romantic twists.
Luke And Laura’s Classic Reunion
Luke (ex-Anthony Geary) and Laura (Genie Francis) are probably the most beloved soap couple of all time. Millions of viewers watched their wedding in 1982, but not long after, Laura was gone. She was kidnapped and presumed dead, but was really being held prisoner by the Cassadines.
A year later, Luke was elected Mayor of Port Charles, and as he stood on his balcony of the mansion, remembering his wife, he saw her walking the grounds. Was it really her? After he ran downstairs and screamed her name, she jumped into his arms, and all was right with the world.
Jason Was Presumed Dead Twice
Jason (Steve Burton) lives a dangerous life and has been in many precarious situations. Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) enforcer usually prevails, but in 2012, it looked like he was gone forever. Faison (ex-Anders Hove) shot him and kicked him into the water. He was never found and presumed dead.
Two years later, Jason returns to Port Charles with a new face after having reconstructive surgery and resumes life in Port Charles. Not so fast…that wasn’t Jason at all – it was his twin brother. The real Jason emerges, and it is discovered that the brothers were part of a memory-mapping experiment.
In 2021, Jason disappears again after a fight with the evil Peter August (Wes Ramsey) in Crete. Jason disappeared in a collapsed tunnel and was thought to be dead until he reappeared in 2024. It turned out that he was forced to work undercover for the FBI.
Robin Stopped A Wedding
Robin and her portrayer, Kimberly McCullough, grew up on GH, so it was extra devastating when the character died in an explosion in 2012. Eventually, her husband, Patrick (Jason Thompson), found love again with Nurse Sabrina (Teresa Castillo). The couple was planning their wedding, not knowing that Faison had faked Robin’s death, and her parents were in the process of rescuing her.
Robin snuck into the church during her husband’s wedding. She didn’t reveal herself, but her daughter Emma (then-Brooklyn Rae Silzer) spotted her. Patrick watched as Emma ran into her mother’s arms. Poor Sabrina.
Felicia Fainted When She Saw Frisco
Frisco (Jack Wagner) and Felicia (Kristina Wagner) were a supercouple of the ’80s, but Frisco was presumed dead while on a dangerous mission for the WSB. His widow then fell in love with and married Colton (Scott Thompson Baker). She was walking home from dinner with her husband when Frisco suddenly appeared, and she fainted from the shock of seeing him. In the end, Felicia chose Frisco and the two remarried.
These are just a few residents of Port Charles who were thought to be dead but turned up alive. Others include Holly, Anna, Luke, Robert, Jake, Faison, Brenda, Franco, and the list goes on and on.
