Ever since Britt returned from the dead on General Hospital, she’s been all about getting her medication to keep her Huntington’s symptoms at bay. But thanks to an interaction with Cullum, we are thinking she never had the disease.

Key Takeaways

  • Britt isn’t really sick.
  • Sidwell and Cullum faked her illness to control her.
  • The theory gives GH a way to keep Britt around.

Here’s Why Britt Is Here To Stay, For Now

Before she met her untimely demise courtesy of Heather (Alley Mills), Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) was diagnosed with Huntington’s disease. Britt supposedly inherited the disease from her father, Faison (Anders Hove).

However, after her recent conversation with Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), we are convinced that neither Faison nor his daughter ever had the disease. Instead, it’s all part of Cullum and Sidwell’s (Carlo Rotta) master plan to control Britt.

Cullum taking Britt’s medication and keeping it at Wyndemere sent up red flags for us. Granted, his reasoning was on point, since Cullum wants Britt at Wyndemere all the time to finish the cold fusion project.

The entire conversation, though, felt off to us. Would Cullum and Sidwell really put Britt’s life in jeopardy when they desperately need her? No, they wouldn’t, especially Sidwell.

What both of them would do is fake a situation that puts Britt in debt to them. Look at what Sidwell did with Laura (Genie Francis) and Sonny (Maurice Benard) to get his way.

It makes perfect sense for them to create a narrative where Faison had the disease, then ensured that Britt was given a false positive for Huntington’s before faking her death. All of these things put her at their mercy, since they have the magic medicine, which is probably water, that keeps her symptoms at bay.

One Reddit thread is on board with this idea, too. A fan on a thread talking about Cullum also brought up the idea that Britt wasn’t sick.

“I seriously think that she does not have Huntington’s, and that the drug they’ve been giving her is sugar water,” shared a fan, adding, “I have been thinking the same thing…does she even have Huntington’s disease?”

Britt not having Huntington’s also gives GH a way to keep her around. The show is doubling down on a Jason (Steve Burton) and Britt pairing (even if it is taking forever for them to be a couple) making Britt an essential character in Port Charles for the foreseeable future.
