We here at Soap Hub are never shy when it comes to playing armchair headwriter – look no further than our near weekly ‘Wild Speculation’ articles for proof – and with 2023 fast approaching, a few of us couldn’t help but theorize what might be on the story horizon.
We were equally curious to see what you’d most like to happen to, or suspect is in store for your favorite — and perhaps least favorite — General Hospital characters. To all those who participated, I sincerely thank you.
Below you’ll find a roundup of predictions/wishes submitted by fans and Soap Hub staff alike, including yours truly. Happy reading.
General Hospital — 2024 Predictions
I like Ava. [Maura West] is a good actress. I hope [Ava] finds true love. Molly discovers that Andrea didn’t lose her baby and gets her child. Gregory gets misdiagnosed, and there is a cure available for him. — Tami Mote
Chase and Brook Lynn get married by or on Valentine’s Day. — Victoria Nielson
Cyrus has Sasha’s baby, Liam, stashed away somewhere. When Sasha insists her son is alive, Cody is the only one who takes her seriously. The two team up to rescue the tot and grow ever closer. — Lynn Audet
Dex proposes to a pregnant Josslyn. * Carly expands Kelly’s into a chain, adding two new locations, one in Beechers Corners and the other in Pautauk. * [Nikolas] comes back and asserts his parental rights. The rub? Neither he nor Spencer is Ace’s dad. * Charlotte continues to channel her inner Helena. * Liz and Finn conceive a child because Violet also needs a cousin-sister. * Kristina has a “change of heart” and decides to keep the baby intended for Molly and TJ. — Stephanie Elbing Velastegui
Lulu wakes up from her coma. * Luke is revealed to be alive. — Daniel Estro
When the truth comes out, Sonny throws Nina to the curb and she heads out of town. On her sojourn, she comes upon amnesia-stricken Jason (Steve Burton) whom she charms. The two return to Port Charles arm in arm. — Becki Holloway
Nina returns with Valentin so that Charlotte can be happy for a while. — Rena Gaston

A wedding for Sprina. * More hospital-based storylines. * Robin and Emma return. * Jerry Jacks needs emergency surgery, and the only surgeon on-call is….Dr. Monica Quartermaine. — Michael Maloney, Soap Hub’s Sr. West Coast Editor
Felicia outs Cody as Mac’s son (perhaps this worked) but their reunion is cut short when Cody is imprisoned. * Tracy catches on to Brook Lynn’s plan for Deception and promptly fires her and Maxie. * Nina finds herself a Pentonville inmate…and runs into Nelle, who is going by a new name. — Amber Sinclair, Soap Hub Editor
Blaze and Molly argue about Blaze’s sexuality, which has Blaze blazing out the door. Opposite, a disagreement between TJ and Molly ends with the former storming out. TJ and Kristina meet by happenstance, commiserate, and wind up falling into bed; Kristina becomes pregnant as a result. * Alexis gets her law license back. — Sandra Leeming, Soap Hub Community Manager
A Critic’s Predictions For GH
Lucy (Lynn Herring) and Scott’s (Kin Shriner) plot to bankrupt Tracy (Jane Elliot) stands poised to peter out as Scott genuinely falls for Ms. Quartermaine, his former partner-in-crime. On what is to be the couple’s wedding day, Lucy, clothed in scarlet (naturally), outs the scheme only for Tracy to reveal she’s been wise to it from the offset. She’s still ready and willing to marry Scott — but on condition that he sign a prenup!
Ava’s (Maura West) presence puts Nina (Cynthia Watros) at ill ease, and the strain that her jealousy puts on her and Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) union results in Nina blubbering that she tasked Martin (Michael E. Knight) with turning Carly (Laura Wright) into the SEC. In his fury, Sonny banishes Nina from his sight, but after a cooler head prevails, he not only forgives her, but requests she return to him. Unfortunately, the voicemail he leaves doesn’t reach Nina before she beds down with Valentin (James Patrick Stuart).
An utterly disillusioned TJ (Tajh Bellow) finds his head turned, not by Kristina (Kate Mansi), but by Portia (Brook Kerr) who’s drowning her sorrows after Curtis (Donnell Turner) curses her when the procedure performed on him fails to result in regained mobility.
