Coming Home: Should Jason Spend More Time With the Quartermaines on General Hospital (GH)?

 Comments

Jason returned to General Hospital (GH) in 2017 and promptly slipped back into his old life of supporting Sonny, saving Carly, fretting about Michael, deciphering Spinelli, and killing people.

About the only relationship he didn’t instantly pick up again was with Sam (Kelly Monaco), who spent some time dithering between him and the newly renamed Drew (Billy Miller), before realizing there could only be one Jason (Steve Burton) for her.

Jason also attempts to reconnect with his sons, Jake and Danny, but he did so in a rather half-hearted fashion. They had Drew and Franco (Roger Howarth) there to pick up the slack.

But what about Jason’s relationship with his original family, the Quartermaines? Granted, Alan is dead, and Tracy is hob-nobbing around the globe with, presumably, a badly coiffed Luke (Anthony Geary).

But Monica (Leslie Charleson) is still around. She’s usually babysitting Jason and Sam’s kids. Plus, there’s… uh… Ned (Wally Kurth).

Should Jason be checking in regularly with them? Over 13000 long-time viewers shared their thoughts:

Back To the Start
Yes, 70% cheer! Now is the perfect time for Jason to embrace the family he once shunned!

Jason’s original reason for dumping on the Quartermaines was that they were trying to control his life and make him into who they wanted him to be – unlike Sonny (Maurice Benard), who simply supported Jason on his path into a life of crime.

But now that Jason is scheming with Carly (Laura Wright) to get Michael (Chad Duell) away from Nelle (Chloe Lanier), maybe he’ll turn to the Quartermaines for pointers?

Stay the Course
Things are fine the way they are, 29% of you counter. Jason has his mob family. He doesn’t need anyone else.

If Jason gave up Jake for the boy’s own safety, then he’d be doing the same favor for Monica and company. With everything Jason does, he is always thinking of others, after all.
