Chloe Lanier was last seen as Nelle Benson on General Hospital in 2020 when Nelle went over a cliff and allegedly fell to her death after Carly Corinthos chased her through the woods. We do know a body was apparently found and Harrison Chase was supposed to identify it, but we never learned if he actually did. Now comes the news that Lanier is about to bring the character back to Port Charles.
Chloe Lanier And Nelle Make A Comeback
While there’s no word yet on how and why we will finally see Nelle again, the actress will be making a short-term return, according to the September 12, 2022, issue of Soap Opera Digest.
Lanier told the publication that Executive Producer Frank Valentini sent her a text with very few details asking if she’d like to return for a bit, but she was thrilled to say yes and step back into Nelle’s shoes, something she doesn’t rule out again for the future.

In fact, Lanier teased fans a few weeks ago when she shared a pic of herself in her Instagram stories that appeared to be taken at General Hospital’s Los Angeles Prospect Studios. Fans began speculating that Nelle would somehow be back, and now that’s confirmed to be true.
Nelle is still an integral part of the GH canvas as she is the mother of Wiley Corinthos, the little boy who so many in Port Charles have battled over. After her supposed death, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) finally learned that the daughter who was taken from her at birth while Nina lingered in a coma was Nelle.
Now, fans know Nina really had twins and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) is Nina’s other daughter. Currently, Willow is pregnant after just learning she has leukemia. Does Nelle’s reappearance have anything to do with her twin sister’s plight?
