So, now we know why Chase is such a by-the-book cop in a not-very-by-the-book town. He almost ruined his life and career once… with Nelle… of course… but General Hospital (GH) may have hit paydirt here.
Nelle might be moving out of the Corinthos orbit just a bit after two years as perhaps the soap is finally realizing it’s just not working between Nelle and Michael. It never did and it never will.
Michael now has an inkling to the depths of Nelle’s depravity and it seems Chase has more than an inkling… and is still drawn to her.
Last week, Soap Hub predicted Chase would turn out to be the detective on the drowned fiance case, but we never guessed he was also Nelle’s lover. When he moved in for that kiss, and later pulled out the picture of them he still keeps with him, we knew this is just the beginning on a new story.
Nelle had been written into a corner and Chase had written as the eager-to-please brother of Finn who falls for stupid cop tricks that had him singing by himself at The Nurses’ Ball.
Now, as Chase gains an edge as someone who could fall for Nelle and risk his career to save her (yet seems to know all her secrets), Nelle gains a vulnerability.
Perhaps she seduced Chase to help herself, but perhaps she also fell for him when that was never what she intended to do.
Whatever happened between the pair, we can’t wait to see what will happen. The one thing we know for sure is that Chloe Lanier and Josh Swickard certainly do have chemistry.
