Father and son united at last! General Hospital veteran Chad Brannon is back in the studio, and he’s got nothing but praise for scene partner William Lipton.

General Hospital’s Chad Brannon Praises William Lipton

Brannon’s return to the popular ABC soap is scheduled to commence the week of March 15, but in the meantime, the actor is previewing his stint, and giving kudos to one of his fellow co-stars.

Brannon took to Instagram to share a snapshot of a recently filmed scene featuring himself and Lipton, whom the Daytime Emmy Award winner termed a “kind and talented guy.”

Brannon also teased that more news concerning his stint would be forthcoming…is this a hint that he’ll actually be sticking around for the long haul rather than merely putting in a one-off appearance?

Either way, the reaction to the post was swift and immensely positive. One commenter, dbusby, excitedly commented, “Okay…I’m going to have to start watching this soap opera again!” while ninergrl6 wrote, “I’m SO EXCITED!! I’ve been longing for this moment for nearly 2 decades.” And countrybee added, “Can’t wait to see this! I’m getting emotional just looking at the picture.”

In addition to all the messages left by fans old, new, and lapsed, was a pleasant exchange between the actors themselves. Lipton insisted that it had been “an honor” to work with “Mr. Brannon” and when playfully chastised for making his co-star “feel like the old guy,” he countered that he held “Chad” in “the highest respect.”

Brannon was last seen on GH back in 2009 when he made a one-shot cameo as Aaron, a passenger on the same airplane as Natalia Livingston’s Rebecca Shaw, to help usher the actress’s exit. However, he’s best remembered for playing anti-hero Zander Smith, a role he held from 2000 to 2004.

During his tenure, Brannon was paired opposite Livingston, in the guise of her GH character, Emily Quartermaine, as well as Rebecca Herbst’s Elizabeth Webber. It was the latter relationship that begat Cameron Webber, whom Lipton has been playing since 2018. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
