In the July 7 episode of General Hospital, Carly finally got to see Josslyn after she was shot. However, the conversation did not go as Carly had hoped, and the dynamic of her once-close relationship with her daughter suffered.

Key Takeaways

  • Carly begged Josslyn to leave the WSB.
  • Josslyn broke her mother’s heart with her response.
  • They found common ground, but their relationship is forever changed.

Carly Was Dealt a Massive Blow

The wait to see her daughter was finally over for Carly (Laura Wright), who was there when Josslyn (Eden McCoy) woke up from her nap. It was a touching, yet heartbreaking reunion.

After they rehashed why Josslyn locked Carly in the room with Liesl (Kathleen Gati), Carly declared it was all over for Josslyn now. Carly assumed Josslyn would just leave the WSB because the mission was complete.

Josslyn instantly shut her mother down, and the mood between them shifted. Carly wasn’t here for Josslyn still being an agent, leading to an intense conversation with epic consequences.

Like Mother Like Daughter

Much like Carly, Josslyn dug in her heels as she explained again why she had no intentions of not being a WSB agent. Josslyn used Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), Sidwell (Carlo Rotta), and Sonny (Maurice Benard) as examples of why she wanted to do good in the world.

Carly begged and pleaded with tears flowing down her face, but Josslyn didn’t sway in her decision. Even when Carly pulled the Morgan (Bryan Craig) dying card and how she couldn’t lose another child, Josslyn stood her ground.

In the end, they realized they were at odds on the topic. However, neither Josslyn nor Carly wanted this to ruin their relationship.

A Whole New Dynamic

While Carly and Josslyn agreed to disagree on the latter being in the WSB for the sake of their relationship, they had already lost a huge part of that relationship. Josslyn and Carly were once thick as thieves, but Carly doesn’t really know her daughter anymore.

Ever since Josslyn joined the WSB, she’s lied to her loved ones. Now Carly knows that, and it’s impacted their relationship. The closeness they had is gone forever. Josslyn chose to give up a close relationship with her mother for the WSB, and that will change their dynamic.

There’s no question that in the future, especially with Carly in love with Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) and loyal to Sonny, Josslyn and Carly will be at odds because of the WSB.

The thing is, they both knew that something shifted as they were having the conversation. It was written all over their faces as they decided to save the relationship. Neither of them wanted to lose the other, but Josslyn’s decision to stay in the WSB may do just that.
