Brytni Sarpy Ask for Prayers for Heartbreaking Family Situation

General Hospital star Brytni Sarpy (Valerie) took to Instagram to allay the fears of worried fans who found out the actress was in the hospital.

It turns out that the reason Sarpy is in the hospital is to stay by her father’s side, who was admitted recently. Her father has been fighting an illness for many years, but he is in good spirits — even plotting a way to make a break for it.

According to Soaps In Depth, her father, Mel, suffers from Parkinson’s disease. The actress has attended events in support of finding a cure.

Sarpy was recently taken off contract from her role as Valerie Spencer on General Hospital, which wasn’t too surprising after her romance with Curtis (Donnell Turner) fizzled out.

Soap Hub sends love and prayers to both father and daughter, hoping that Mel is well enough soon to get released from the hospital.
