Fans were shocked last week when several sites, including Soap Hub, reported that Brytni Sarpy had been removed from General Hospital’s credits. That usually means someone is either off the show or no longer a contract player.
GH made no announcement about a Sarpy exit, and with her own social media statement, it looks like the actress is now indeed recurring.
Sarpy indicated it was her choice to drop her GH contract but assures fans she’ll still play Valerie from time to time. She released this statement on Twitter:
“My sweet and amazing fans. Thank you for the kind and loving words. I was graciously allotted the opportunity to pursue other acting endeavors, but will still be popping into Port Chuck every now and again…I hope you’ll continue to follow me on my journey. I promise it will be an exciting one.”
Sarpy joined GH in March of 2015 as a never-before-heard-of Spencer cousin, the daughter of Pat, Bobbie and Luke’s long-lost older sister. The character was thrown into a silly little sordid affair with cousin-in-law Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), and the most we know about her backstory is she likes football and studied criminology in college. Hence, we wish Sarpy luck on her future endeavors.
