It doesn’t look like Morgan will be returning to General Hospital (GH) anytime soon now that Bryan Craig has a brand new primetime show.
Of course, the actor was plenty busy before this happened, appearing in the movie Ride and the primetime show Valor on The CW, which was cancelled after just one season.
Now he’s part of an ensemble drama from producer Eva Longoria. (Fun Fact: Longoria was a double for Vanessa Marcil’s Brenda and she was also once married to Tyler Christopher who played Nikolas.)
In Grand Hotel, Craig portrays Javi Mendoza, the son of the hotel’s owner–and he loves to bed the guests — against his powerful father’s wishes. The show also stars Roselyn Sanchez (ex-Pilar, As the World Turns). There’s tons of soapy drama to spare, and you can watch the trailer below to get a sneak peek.
So, what does this mean for Morgan Corinthos? After all, his name is mentioned almost as much now as it was when he was actually on the show. Nelle (Chloe Lanier) was even to torment Morgan’s mother, Carly (Laura Wright), trying to make her think Morgan was still alive.
Carly now knows that was just a pipe dream, and considering Craig will be very busy shooting his new show, it doesn’t look like he’ll be available to make his onscreen mom’s fantasies come true.
This puts GH in an interesting position once again. Craig has come back for a day here or there in the past.
Does the show want to keep doing that or is Morgan too vital to the soap’s future? Would the audience even accept a new actor in the pivotal role of Carly and Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) only biological child?
Guess we’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, for those who need their Bryan Craig fix, Grand Hotel will debut in the fall.
