The death of Kobe Bryant and his daughter this past weekend affected many soap stars, especially former General Hospital and Days of our Lives star Brandon Barash. It certainly made him appreciate his bond with daughter Harper, reminding him of the basketball great.
Brandon Barash Pays Tribute
The actor paid tribute to the hashtag going around, celebrating the bond of Bryant and his daughter Gianna, in a post he recently shared to Instagram that had an adorable shot of him with Harper saying, “Best job I’ll ever have. ❤️ #girldad”
It’s hardly a new sentiment to anyone who follows Barash’s heartwarming posts that show the incredible bond he and his daughter share. He was also quick to share his thoughts after Bryant’s death when he shared a picture of him with his family saying, “There are no words. This poor family. #ripmamba #ripgianna 💔”
But that wasn’t all. When all of the names of those who perished were revealed, he shared another image and wrote, “Good god. These were just little girls doing what they loved — playing ball. Just parents doing what they loved — loving their little girls. Just a man doing what he loved — flying. My heart is broken for all of these families and those left behind.”
Family Bonds
Considering how much he loves Harper, it’s understandable that the horrific news would hit the devoted father hard. It’s clear he treasures their bond in a very similar way that Bryant did with his daughters and supports all of Harper’s hopes and dreams — whether it’s having fun, dancing, or even her brief acting career when she was on GH as Maxie’s (played by mom, Kirsten Storms) daughter, Georgie.
As for his own acting career, rumor has it that he’ll be reappearing on DAYS in a few months but whether or not he’s playing Stefan (who is believed dead but this is Salem) remains to be seen. Stay tuned to find out.
