General Hospital fans have been waiting for it for months – the moment Carly Corinthos sets eyes on Sonny Corinthos again and realizes the love of her life actually isn’t dead. But when will it happen? And how? Here’s the blockbuster way to reunite General Hospital’s Carly and Sonny.
The General Hospital Plot Thickens
The show’s writers have been dragging out this story for months, so they’re obviously plotting a huge crescendo for the big reveal. Sonny’s not going to simply return home with his memories back to reclaim the life he’s lost. It’s going to have to be something bigger, better, and more explosive; a twist that not only leaves his friends, family, and viewers agog but also packs a major wallop and offshoots into a few new tantalizing directions.
Setting the GH Stage
However, things could start off rather innocently. Phyllis (Joyce Guy) has been pushing Sonny to go after Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) every time she makes a visit back home to Port Charles. How about if he finally decides to do it? But while Sonny’s en route to his old stomping grounds, Nina returns to Nixon Falls and learns where he’s gone. Frantic, she immediately heads back to PC, desperate to find Sonny, before anyone happens upon him.
Enter Sonny Corinthos
Meanwhile, Sonny arrives in Port Charles and immediately feels an inexplicable connection to the town. He wanders around unnoticed, checks into a motel, and begins having dreams of that mystery blonde woman again; only this time, he sees Carly’s face. Then, as fate would have it, he sees Carly’s picture in a wedding announcement and decides to head to her nuptials, hoping she can help him connect the dots and unravel his past.

The Big General Hospital Reveal
Just as Carly and Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) wedding is about to begin, Sonny walks in, shocking the bride and groom. Carly gasps. Avery runs into her father’s arms, calling him, “Daddy.” Sonny stands there confused and uncertain, not feeling a connection to anyone.
Carly senses Sonny’s fragile state and gingerly approaches him. Before she can reach him, Nina bursts in and walks towards him. A stunned Carly watches in awe as the man she loves is comforted by the woman she loathes. It immediately becomes crystal clear to Carly and all the assembled guests that Nina has known Sonny was alive for months, setting things off in a whole new storyline direction.
