Sometimes birthdays can be bittersweet and that’s exactly how it was for General Hospital (GH) star Lisa LoCicero this week.
The actress celebrated her birthday on Wednesday and when she tweeted a thank you for all the kind wishes, she also revealed that her beloved dog died the same day.
LoCicero, who plays Olivia Quartermaine on the soap, shared a beautiful snap of Sister Aimee taken three years ago with her then-newborn, Verity. She thanked her beloved dog for 13 years of companionship, and later noted she believes dogs do indeed go to heaven.
The actress’ son, Lukas, texted her an article in which Pope Francis told a young boy whose pet died that his dog would go to heaven and this brought comfort to LoCicero.
She thanked all her fans and followers for their kind thoughts that helped her through a birthday she called “strange.”
Soap Hub sends condolences to LoCicero and her family for this sad loss.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
