Billy Miller Lands Hot New Series… But What Does That Mean For GH?

General Hospital (GH) star Billy Miller is venturing out of Port Charles for a role on the new series Are You Sleeping, produced for Apple by movie icon Reese Witherspoon.

Miller will star opposite Moon Bloodgood, Brett Cullen, and Oscar winner Octavia Spencer as the husband of one member of a set of identical twins, according to Deadline.

The twins’ father was murdered under murky circumstances decades ago and the series revolves around Spencer’s character trying to solve the murder through a new podcast.

Word has it that Miller only signed a one-year contract with GH last fall, which means it would be coming up for renewal soon. With a hot new role on the horizon and Drew floundering in storyline limbo for months, could that prompt Miller not to re-sign?

GH seems to want to pair him with Elizabeth Hendrickson’s Margaux to see if magic can strike twice. The pair had chemistry to spare when he played Billy Abbott on The Young and the Restless and she played Chloe Mitchell.

But that coupling could come to a screeching halt if Miller chooses to leave the show in the next few months.

There was loads of potential when Drew turned out to not be Jason and we could have found out more about Drew by giving him back his memories. The soap seems to have abandoned that for newer characters either kidnapped or plotting murders at nine months pregnant.
