Genie Francis
After half a year of fan outcry, it looks like General Hospital finally has heard the voices of the masses, and is bringing back the absolute heart of the show.
That’s right. Genie Francis is back and set to be taping scenes soon for a fall comeback, according to Daytime Confidential.
That sounds like a big November sweeps story to us, as Laura could return to a husband she recognizes yet doesn’t recognize (if Ryan Chamberlain is really alive and masquerading as Kevin).
Francis was unceremoniously dropped from contract status earlier this year, much to viewers’ dismay.
Laura was in the middle of a heated mayoral race with Ned, and before we blinked, she was tossing her campaign materials so she could head to Europe and care for grandson, Spencer, who had broken his leg.
When Kevin returned from a visit last week (at least, we think it was Kevin), he said his new wife is anxious to return home.
Will Laura return with Spencer, and if she does, will he be SORAS’d in the same way Cameron and Josslyn have been in recent years? This would create a genuine GH teen scene, something the soap sorely needs.
In the meantime, as we await word on the story, Soap Hub wants to wish a hearty welcome back to Ms. Genie Francis, a daytime legend who belongs center stage.
